Canada and the SNOW!

By January I was ready for a break and for my 3rd winter visit to see Charlotte and catch some big white OWLS!
Richard Charles was to join us for a week from England and overall we did extremely well with a lot of raptors caught.
Mostly we got Red-tailed Hawks, over 50 in fact! then there were Rough-legged Hawk (Buzzard), Northern Shrikes, a retrap American Kestrel and 12 Snowy Owls.
One of the best birds though was re-trapping a 21 year old Red-tail which had been ringed as an adult in the south of Ontario, but a northern bird, so who knows where this bird has been!
